Moreover, the quality of welding is more professional and is offered at affordable pricing, thus allowing even the part-time welder the opportunity to own a best-in-class welder machine within your reasonable budget. Here is the AHP AlphaTIG 200X review in detail.

Construction:

With the dimensions of 9 X 23 X 12 inches, this unit weighs around 70 pounds. This machine has knobs on the control panel instead of your push button computer controls. The first row has amperage settings and in the second row are the settings for the functions: Pulse frequency, Pulse time and Post flow.
The controls allow you to adjust your AC balance if you are welding with your AC. The third row allows you to adjust the AC Frequency, the AC Balance and the Post Flow.

2T Vs 4T:

You can choose between T2 and 4T modes on this machine. When you set the welder to 4T mode, you should click the finger control one time for turning on the torch and start your welding process. Click it again to turn it off. Since this model has two modes in a single machine, it means that you don’t have to buy two separate machines.

One of the great things about this welding unit is that it uses Fairchild IGBT inverter technology which would give you the full-rated output. It allows quality TIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, as well as precise welding of thinner gauge materials. It’s not only professionals who can use this welding unit, as the manufacturer designed it for novices and people who enjoy welding as a hobby.

Ease of Use:

The model contains several features that make the welders work much easier. You get several options to choose from and top-notch technology that enables this welding unit to deliver a great performance. When it comes to using this welding unit, it’s flexible and portable. 1. Hi Ben,
Nice reviews, would you recommend the AHP AlphaTIG 200DX or the Everlast PowerTIG 200DV TIG / Stick welder. I am considering both but I will be diving into my first machine as a hobby and not sure the cost difference is worth it? However I am not opposed to the added investment of quality and features as this will be a tool to have around for awhile.
    Thanks,
    Kyle

    • Hi Kyle,
Thank you for visiting my site.
Everlast is a great brand and their welding machines are manufactured in the USA with quality is really good, but lately I often see some people complaining about the their customers service.
I think you should buy AHP 200DX, I’m pretty sure that you will be satisfied with this welding machine, a best choice for price and quality.
Hopefully, you will be happy with new welder.

    • That’s our mistake. You’re right. Looks like the company itself is US based but some parts are made offshore. Here’s a quote from the company about us page:
Another distinctive feature you’ll notice about our company is our lean operating business model. We manufacture our product in modern, off-shore facilities using name brand, off-the-shelf electronic components such as Infineon, Siemens, Texas Instruments, IXYS, Intersys, International Rectifier, Toshiba, Sharp, Panasonic and others. This results in a lower purchase price for you, the customer. However, we feel it doesn’t affect our ability to provide reliable products and customer support because the company itself, the inventory, customer support and product service are all fully based and staffed right here in the United States. It’s true, many of the old welder companies based in the U.S.A now use at least some model of off-shore manufacturing. We don’t claim this is a new idea, as this method of manufacture is being adopted and expanded by all of the United States based welder manufacturers. However, we have literally built our company from the ground up without the bloat and overhead that can double or even triple the final cost to you, the customer. This fact combined with our ever-improving product has helped to make us one of the fastest growing welder companies in the United States.
